Daric “Bud” Abbott

Daric Abbott’s acting experience originated at Malverne High School in NY, where he played Mr. Brownlow in Oliver Twist, several parts in Hello, Dolly!, and wrote and acted in age-related scenes and skits for their Senior Show.

As a member of Bread of Life World Outreach Center, Daric sang on the worship team (occasionally as Lead), sang lead for Miranda Curtis' "Open Heaven" during another Resurrection Sunday Cantata, and ran a Creative Writing Ministry helping writers find their voice and cultivate their chops.

He played Barabbas and Jesus in separate Resurrection Sunday dramas.

“Barabbas may have been the most fun because I was able to improvise and interact with the audience.  For the role of Jesus, a professional makeup artist fit me with makeup and thorns; so convincing that not even my own sons recognized me until after the performance. During the scene, while my arms were extended, the sash began to cover my feet, so the Pastor came up to the altar to 'fix it'. When she "reached out and touched the hem of my garment," I felt something I cannot even properly explain other than comparing it to virtue going out of my body.  Her eyes told me she felt the same thing.  I get the chills just typing this and thinking about it.”

Daric spent more than 20 active years in Sound and TV Ministry as well as Praise and Worship.  Even though he has spent considerable time on stage, he tended to stay low-key and behind the scenes.

In 2018, he attended a Voiceover Boot Camp and received instruction and mentoring to pursue opportunities as a Voice Talent.

“I have been in a Love-Love relationship with God the Father, because of His Only Begotten Son's sacrifice and the relentless wooing and working of the Holy Spirit at differing levels of activity since 1991.  After receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit while on a flight (can't remember where I was going) I have been blessed to experience a number of spiritual encounters that further strengthened my awe of God's intimate connection to the details of all our lives. I make no declarations to be a super deep eschatologist of scripture, but I do believe His Word is true.”

“I worked closely with Tracey James while employed with the Auto Club of New York(AAA), where we participated in the Club's bowling league one fateful summer.  We had the WORST bowlers in the history of bowling leagues and won the funniest looking trophies ever crafted.  The main memories of my time working with Tracey are of her disparaging us "Lawng Guylanders" as not being as cool as anything or anyone from her native borough of Crooklyn.  Tracey has always been a very layered and deep thinker, and capable of operating on multiple levels at the same time.  It has been a blessing to reconnect with her on this project despite my personal challenges working on my part.”
